Up to 450 jobs have been lost as Amvoc entered into administration.
We received the news today (15th March 2023) that Amvoc, a telemarketing company with its head office in Harrogate has ceased trading with immediate effect. With other offices Leeds and Manchester, up to 450 employees from Amvoc have been left without a job, with no notice.
Staff received an email at around 10pm on Tuesday night, informing them that all of the offices were closed with immediate effect and telling them not to turn up to work in the morning as they no longer had a job.
We've heard reports that some staff who didn't see the email turned up to work on Wednesday morning, but were unable to get in as the Amvoc offices were locked.
We've spoken to employees who are understandably shocked, as well as feeling incredibly anxious about paying bills and supporting their families. One employee posted on LinkedIn:
"I, as many others will be during this time, am now frantically looking for work. With huge overheads, a small child to support and a mortgage to pay, I am very concerned about the coming weeks."
Being made redundant an have devastating effects - especially when it's without warning.
We're looking to help Amvoc staff by making a claim for a protective award, where they could claim compensation of up to 90 days' pay.
If you've been made redundant from Amvoc, we may be able to help.

Why should I make a Protective Award Claim?
When an employer makes more than 20 staff redundant at one location, they legally have to consult with either a recognised trade union or elected employee representatives. If Go-Centric did not comply with this obligation, and you were made redundant without notice, you may be entitled to claim compensation by bringing a claim for a protective award to the Employment Tribunal.
Unfortunately, when a company is placed into administration, we often see a large number of employees being made redundant. Therefore, Protective Award Claims are brought to the Tribunal as large class action claims. Large class action claims involve a number of individual Claimants making a joint claim.
Make sure to discuss the Protective Award Claim with any former colleagues who have also faced redundancy as they may also be eligible to be part of the claim.
At Aticus Law, we know that facing redundancy with little or no notice can have devastating effects, especially when it comes to finances. If the claim is unsuccessful, you won’t have to pay any legal fees as we manage Protective Award Claims on a no-win-no-fee basis.
Our redundancy solicitors would like to support former employees of Britishvolt with bringing a claim for a protective award, where the Tribunal is able to award up to 90 days’, pay capped at £571 per week (£4568 in total) to each individual who is part of the claim.
